Security
Your data is your data. Here is how we protect it, who can see it, and what we commit to when it comes to keeping Axial running.
Hosting and uptime
Axial runs on Microsoft Azure across multiple availability zones, with failover to a second region. We commit to 99.9% quarterly uptime. If we miss it, you get a service credit based on that quarter's uptime.

Sign-in
- Single sign-on. SSO through OpenID Connect (OIDC), including Okta and Microsoft Entra ID, at no extra charge. Setup usually takes about an hour once your identity team shares a few details.
- Multi-factor authentication. MFA adds a second check at sign-in and works alongside SSO.
Who can see what
Axial's role manager controls access to almost every page and action. Each person sees only the stores and data their role allows, and roles can be assigned automatically from a person's job or set for a specific person.

Data protection
- Encryption at rest. Customer data is encrypted at rest.
- Payments. Stripe processes our payments. You enter card or bank details directly into Stripe's form, and Axial never receives or stores your card or bank account numbers.
- Guest cards. Axial doesn't hold your guests' credit card numbers. It stores only the last four digits.

Your data stays yours
We will never hold your data hostage. Pull it out any time through the Axial API or send it to your own data warehouse or BI tool.

AI and your data
Axial's built-in AI features use Anthropic (Claude) and OpenRouter. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what is shared with them. If you would rather keep AI under your own terms, connect your own AI tools to Axial through our MCP connector, so the model's terms and your data stay under your control.
Setup and support
There is usually very little for your IT team to do to set up Axial, and we resolve more than 90% of requests and reported issues within 24 hours.
