Scheduling
Can Axial Shift replace HotSchedules?
Short answer
Yes. Axial Shift covers scheduling, time and attendance, team messaging and shift swaps, and ties every schedule to your sales forecast and labor targets. There are no per-employee app fees, and Axial can sync your HotSchedules data during the switch so reporting stays complete.
What you get in Axial's scheduler
- Templates by sales band: the forecast picks the right template, and managers can adjust it.
- Separate complete and publish permissions: for example, managers build the schedule and GMs publish it.
- Availability guardrails: stop shifts from being scheduled outside an employee's availability.
- Open shifts with Auto Bid: manager approval keeps overtime under control.
- Requests from the app: shift swaps and punch-edit requests come in from the employee app, with manager notifications.
- Sections and stations (patio, bar, opener) on the schedule and printed rosters.
- Labor targets by SPLH, and a coverage heat map against projected sales.
- A change log showing who changed each schedule and when.
What carries over from HotSchedules
- Employee availability can be imported, with some cleanup.
- Schedule templates are rebuilt from your past shifts.
- Employees come from your POS or HR system.
Can we run both during the switch?
Yes. Axial can pull schedules, punches and availability from HotSchedules, so labor reporting stays accurate while stores move over in waves.
Do you need a template for every store?
No. Most groups sort stores into 4 or 5 tiers by volume or layout and build one template per sales band.
