Can Axial Shift be our time clock?
Short answer
Yes. Axial's punch clock runs on an Android tablet in the store or on NFC stickers that employees tap with their phones, and you can use both. Punches are geofenced to the store, and employees can request punch edits from the app.
Setting it up
- Tablet: install the Axial app from Google Play on an Android tablet.
- NFC stickers: one punch clock can be cloned to many stickers. Add a separate punch clock only for spots more than about 100 feet apart.
- Register every employee in Axial before day one, using bulk email invites, QR welcome sheets or the app download.
Switching from your current time clock
The switch happens all at once for each store and day: everyone clocks in on Axial, or everyone stays on the old system, never a mix. Give Axial a day's notice and it turns off the old punch sync.
After the punch
- Managers can lock and approve punches before they go to payroll.
- Employees can request punch edits from the app, and managers are notified.
- The labor report compares actual hours with scheduled hours by job and by employee.
- Punch edits are logged for audit.
