Can we build our own apps, dashboards and AI tools on top of Axial Shift?
What you build on
One real-time, complete, connected, reliable and permissioned data set. See What makes Axial Shift AI-ready restaurant infrastructure? for the details.
How you build
- The Axial API, with webhooks: pull data on demand, or subscribe to events as they happen.
- The MCP server: give your own LLMs and agents permission-scoped access to live operational data.
- Automated SFTP feeds and CSV exports: for data warehouses, BI tools and finance.
- Data in, too: any external data source can be piped into Axial, including forecasts, so your tools and Axial work from the same numbers.
- Developer documentation is at developers.axialshift.com.
Why build on Axial instead of from scratch
Connecting to a POS is the slow part. Every POS stores checks, items and labor differently, and keeping those feeds running across hundreds of stores is a full-time job. Axial has already done that work across more than a hundred connections, so your team starts with clean, real-time data and spends its time on the app itself.
Use Axial headless, or alongside its apps
Mendocino Farms runs Axial headlessly. You can use Axial purely as the data and integration layer, use its scheduling, labor and reporting apps, or mix the two.
