Forecasting
How does Axial Shift's forecast handle holidays, blackout dates and school calendars?
Short answer
Holidays are built into every store's forecast. Blackout dates, such as a day a store was closed or something unusual happened, are left out so they don't distort future days. You can also add each store's local school calendar, so the forecast reflects school breaks and early-release days in that area.
- Holidays are part of every store's forecast model.
- Mark blackout dates by store, and they're excluded from the forecast.
- School calendars are set per store, because districts differ from one location to the next.
- Managers can still adjust the forecast for anything else they know is coming, such as a local event or a large party.
